Rise of a Black Male Named George Edwin Taylor

Image
George Edwin Taylor was born into a hard and troublesome childhood. Little did he know he would be a very successful man and even a candidate for the President of the United States of America. George was born in Arkansas in 1857. His mother was free and his father was enslaved. George and his mother decided to start a new life in a new place. They moved to Illinois. Illinois did not go how they had hoped. With his mom passing away, the La Crosse court system fostered George to a black farmer named Nathan Smith. George lived with Nathan until he turned 20. Before George left, a political mind had intrigued him. He insisted George to go and get some education and obtain a superior education. George attended Wayland University in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Although he attended Wayland University he did not earn a degree because of money and health issues. After his college years he returned to La Crosse and found a job as a newspaper reporter and editor. This led directly to his inter

I Got 99 Problems and Impeachment is One

How do you solve a problem in the white house? It is really quite simple you see, just kick them out. What I am referring to is the impeachment of president Andrew Johnson. As he was the first president to get impeached, he has gotten a lot of attention. You may be asking why he was impeached , and here is why. Andrew Johnson was the vice president of president Abraham Lincoln. If you did not know Mr. Lincoln was assassinated! After the assassination, Vice president Andrew Johnson assumed presidency. The accusation for his charge on impeachment was caused by his decisions of removing secretary of war, Edwin Stanton. By doing this Johnson effectively violated the Tenure of Office Act. That was not the only reason as to why he was impeached. After vetoing many acts and bills including the Civil Rights Act, the Freedmen's Bureau Renewal Act, First Reconstruction Act, Second Reconstruction Act, and the Third Reconstruction Act. Can you believe that only one-third of college students who start at a public college will graduate in the next 6 years. That means you or some of your friends will not be graduating. Listen closely if you want to succeed and have a heads up going into college.  From high school to college there is a big transition. There are many ways to keep your head above water in the endless river of school work, quizzes, test's, and exams.  The most important, number one rule, is time management and how you spend your time both on classwork and studying. Once you get your schedule you should immediately start planning times to study through the week and time to put effort into your studies.  Another key is attendance. Just showing up and participating in class is the easiest way to put yourself in a great spot for success. Talking to your professors may not be your favorite thing to do but it will help you as the professor has a greater knowledge of the lessons and the class in gener

About me

A Few Things About Me When I was a boy I was very energetic. I would always be doing something outside or inside that involved being active. This being said English was never my strong suit. I was always more focused on sports and recess. In my youth I played a lot of football. I never played for an official team or club but we played every weekend. I was not the kid who loved going to school to learn, I was more ready for recess or lunch to hang out with friends. Through middle school I was the same way. I played on the middle school football team in my seventh and eighth grade years. Through high school I had stopped playing football. I met many new friends and they convinced me to try out for the soccer team. Soccer had gained my full attention. We had practice every day if not practice we had a game. In the off season me and my friends would still kick around and try to hone in on our skills for the next season. I never did
